A special thanks to the Rochester, NY family for being home base while we are homeless and for taking such wonderful care of our baby boy (Rusty –the cat).
We hung out with Joe and James in Akron, OH until Tuesday morning when we started our long drive to Cape Cod. On our way we stopped at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater in PA. We arrived late Tuesday night at Jesse Borkowski’s abode in Cape Cod. Wednesday we went out with Jesse and his girlfriend, Meredith, for a couple of rounds of candlestick bowling at Leary’s Family Amusement Center. Thursday was a mix of relaxing and preparing for the arrival of hurricane Earl. After deciding that staying to weather the hurricane wasn’t reasonable, we spent most of Friday driving back to Rochester. Despite our e-mail to Laura’s parents our arrival that evening was a dinner surprise.

Friday starts with a ride on the President’s Alpine Slide before driving past Mount Rushmore on our way to the Crazy Horse Memorial. After Crazy Horse we stopped by the Prairie Berry Winery and picked up some of their Red Ass Rhubarb wine before driving through the Badlands.
Saturday we finished our drive from the Badlands to Chicago. Actually we didn’t see Chicago because once we arrived at the Sybaris Hotel in Frankfort we didn’t leave. In our suite we enjoyed a private pool, hot tub, waterfall, fireplace and in-suite couples massage. Unfortunately the in-suite steam room was broken but the Sybaris took good care of us. This is definitely a hotel every couple must go to at least once. We’ve decided we will be returning every anniversary.
Sunday we visited the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park, IL before driving through Berrien Springs, MI where Kevin grew up. After a quick tour we continued on ending the night in Akron, OH at Kevin’s friend Joe’s place.

Today was a slower paced day. We took our time at Devils Tower and then meandered our way to Mount Rushmore, stopping at The Boondocks 50’s Diner for food. After checking into the hotel we headed out for the night view of Mt Rushmore under the lights. We concluded the night with fudge shopping, and Saloon chilling, live entertainment included.
